Regarding the circumstances of Mom's Death

Just wanted to give you an update on something that has been really disconcerting to all in this situation.

I am sorry I couldn't get back to you sooner, to allay some of images that might have been going through your heads in this situation.

Yes Mom died in a house fire but when they found the body and did the autopsy it was shown that she died of smoke inhalation and not burns, so she would have been unconscious when the heat became overwhelming.

She had gotten out of bed to follow dad but as he was trying to figure out the source of the smoke and get out the door the smoke had already entered their bedroom and she would probably have been quickly overcome with smoke so there was not enough oxygen for her. So...It was a comfort to have the medical examiner confirm that Mom died of smoke inhalation and likely didn’t suffer.
